Lee Lock Ring Mod
I personally don't think this is necessary but....
Here is a link to modify Lee Lock Rings into set screwed lock rings.

Re: Lee Lock Ring Mod
Locking screw will eventually damage threads. Not a problem for dies which are adjusted only once.

A lead shot pellet or bit of copper wire will protect the threads .

Re: Lee Lock Ring Mod
When I once bought a set of dies used, they didn't come with lock rings. I went to the hardware store and bought and bought a pair of 7/8 fine thread nuts and cut them in half. I then drilled a hole through one of the points and installed a brass screw for the lock. These are a lot bigger than regular lock nuts, doesn't matter on a single stage but they don't fit with other dies on a turret. Not even close.

I'm I the only one who likes Lee's lock rings? I use them on my non Lee presses.

Re: Lee Lock Ring Mod
They are fine for when you are locking dies in a turret where they stay near forever. But when they are locking a die on a single stage, they always require readjustment.

Re: Lee Lock Ring Mod
Nope, I like them and don't have any problems with them. I tighten and loosen them with a Titan wrench. Don't need to touch the die and the rings stay where they were put.daboone wrote:I'm I the only one who likes Lee's lock rings? I use them on my non Lee presses.
