That plate is different from the 1 I have . Mine has just 5 pins on the bottom. I have mine all apart when it quit priming properly and polished the rod end which did help some . Is there a riding spring on the push rod of some sort? Mine is bookless being 2nd hand.

You have the original designed shellplates. The new type is shown in the video. There is no spring. Go to the Lee Precision website and you can find all the documentation there. Very little shipped with the press.

That guy usually uses very expensive, high precision equipment, like the PräziPress (German engineered massive single stage press which is yours for as little as just over a thousand dollars). But for handgun bulk reloading he uses the LoadMaster, which does tell a bit about his opinion in the precision and quality of the press.
His YouTube channel is quite interesting anyway, and he uploads all of his videos in German and in English.

Re: How to make the Lee Loadmaster operate smooth
I suspect the improved she'll plate makes a difference also . Mine is pretty smooth inside .
$1000 (much less Euros or £) for a press ? That better be a zero, nothing tolerance , adjustable bearing , bearing type press. Wow I have trouble with excepting that the permanent mounted stuff in the shop would cost close to 5k for 5 shotgun presses and 3 rifle/pistol presses and all the basic goodies and another 1k for the portable stuff.
