There are a lot of cool rifles in this post.
Here is another picture of my VTR with some food I'm going to feed some prairie dogs with.

This is the muzzle break. Didn't measure it but it is close to 1/2" bore 1-3/4" deep. rifle is 223. When it is fired it stays flat so you can watch the show when the critters blow up. Wish I would have kept my SPS in the opening picture of this thread, I would cut the barrel down to 20" and have the machine shop put this type of muzzle break in it.

Remington says the VTR 223 has a 22 inch barrel so they are including the muzzle break in the measurement. For me that means it is a 20 inch barrel with a 1-9 twist.

The SPS Varmint 223 had a 26 inch barrel 1-12 twist.

They say the VTR barrel shape cuts vibration and cools better. Comparing the 2 rifles while shooting prairie dogs at long range I found the VTR to shoot right up there with the SPS. I was surprised and impressed.

It is, especially if you can figure out how to make those 14 round promag magazines run in it. (I can.) Nothing worse than a Black Whunga Hunga Chunga Bukka to the left, for sho, especially if it's sporting a monster mag! Now if you got two of them, even better! Girlie one up for the wife and leave the other black....I know one thing, I personally absolutely do not want to get hit several times with high velocity 200 grain .45ACP lead flat points.

+1 That would be painful no doubt about it.
