Did that. Rather disappointing. Needs work.

None. I ran out of bullets :(

Local vendor is backordered for the next month it looks like. The few places I've found online that have 165gr FP's in stock are a bit pricey for me.

Gettin' antsy waiting for my new 9mm so I reloaded up some "banging" ammo. I had some RMR 124 gr FMJ FP bullets and I loaded some with CFE for Pistol and some Unique in some mixed brass. All plunked well in my FMK barrel. About 20 each. I just found out my local FFL is closed on Saturday so I gotta wait two more days, UGGGH!

Loaded .45acp 200gr lead and XTP using Universal powder. Also, .45 Colt 255 Lee cast with 12.9gr Blue Dot. This load works really well in my Beretta Stampde and Uberti 1873 Short Rifle!

I entertained a Beretta Stampede but got an Uberti Cimmaron Evil Roy instead because the Beretta has a transfer bar.

GassGuzzler - you are correct about the transfer bar on the Stampede, but it was the only Uberti made pistol in the store that had a 7 1/2" BBL (may preference). While, like yourself, I am not particularly fond of transfer bars, all the holes in the cylinder "miked" .4525 and the trigger was a "sweet" 2 1/2 pounds. (I'll live with the transfer bar!) Uberti's started out a little "rough" IMO, but has really developed their "cowboy" line into superb products in the last two decades. The only down side of the Stampede is that if any repairs are needed, you have to send the gun to Beretta; Uberti will not accept them for warranty work, even though Beretta now owns them and Uberti makes the parts.

I wasn't dogging it. I actually wanted the Stampede but with more non-bar Rugers than ones with bars, I picked the Evil Roy that fell into my lap. I'll never buy another New Model Ruger...you can bet on that. The only one I have is from 1978 and I put way too much time and money in it to ever let it go. My Uberti is 5.5" and is short for me but ...
