Found an interesting flint point yesterday. Found a website that took me easily through the identification. Seems it is a "Stemmed Lanceolate" some 9,000 to 10,000 years old. Will take it to someone that knows this stuff first hand at a nearby State park.

The point is such a clean sample that I wonder if the "user" dropped it or died near the location. I can see a small pouch carrying new spare points. I have the location well marked and will watch for others after each rain.

Very nice find. Pretty good shape. Might of been used to hunt with. Have them here in NM, but difficult to find. Have a few here.
