Portable press mount
Not much to show here yet. Made this mount so I can setup another Loadmaster in my computrer room. Will be able to move it to other locations, although 99% of the time it will be where you see it in the pic.
It is 1-1/2 inch thick oak laminated useing glue and screws. It is really sturdy. 2 clamps in the back sandwich the desk top to the desk frame. I don't expect to have much give in anything. The board at the left locks into the mount and is clamped to the desk top, it is to set bullets on. After the press is installed I will take care of ejected round setup in the right side. Loadmaster #2 should be here Thursday.
On this loadmaster I will only be loading already primed pistol rounds. Decapping of all cases is done in my shop on the other loadmaster, I will still use it to load rifle rounds. On the one in the computer room all I should have to cleanup will be the ocasional powder spill/mess.
I will post pictures when it's done. Should be next week. I will also post pictures of my other bench when I get some of the clutter cleared away so I can take a picture. (It's been a rough winter for my work shop. Junk just kept piling up).

Re: Portable press mount
Loadmaster #2 got here about 1:30 PM, 2 hours later I have dies set and have 25 finished 380s off it. I'm still drinking coffee and celebrating how easy the setup goes when you did it all before.
I had things prepped, like I made a do it yourself brace on my spare carrier, so all I had to do was swap cariers after I got the press mounted. Didn't have to setup the primer system because I prime everything off press. I can see I have to spend more time polishing the square rod that the crank slider runs on.
Now to pick up and put away all my stuff, then finish running that 100 cases. Pictures later.

Re: Portable press mount
OK, I'm calling this project a success. Loadmaster is working very good with 380 Auto. Going to get it going with 40 s&w and call it complete. I have a little DIY stuff on it, but that's another story. For now my setup is working out well, it's a plesant spot to reload, I'm happy.

Re: Portable press mount
It is a coated bullet, 100 gr. I get them from twoalphabullets.com He gets the metal from a foundry already blended, the bullets are really excelent. I got a lee 6 cavity mold for my 40. I plan on just buying the metal from John, cast my bullets and take them back down to him to be coated. (It's only 45 min drive for me.) I will still be buying most of my bullets from Two Alpha, but I want to be setup for making my own in case his wife shoots him or something.62chevy wrote:Looks good Steve!!!
