Press lubrication
I have tried a lot of lubes on my presses over the years. What I tried about a year ago, and I am still using on the rams is 85 wt synthetic gear lube. I just apply it with a 1 inch paint brush. A film stays on quite a while.
On the crankslider of the Loadmaster I found Dupont Teflon Multi-Use lubricant keeps it working smooth while maintaining tension longer than anything else I have tried.

Re: Press lubrication
Has anybody tried Teflon spray? I got a large can of that, and as a dry lube it shouldn't collect dust and stuff.

Re: Press lubrication
Remington makes oil with teflon in it, tetra gun oil is teflon based. I'm not sure how straight teflon spray will work but do not see why not worse case you don't like it use non chlorinated break cleaner to flush it out. keep us posted.

Re: Press lubrication
I have to clean the press ram often enough that I don't really want oil film build up on it. It always seems like there is just that little bit of powder, residue, or primer crud sticking to everything. I don't want over the years for the ram to scour the press body and get sloppy in fit so I just clean everything all the time.

Do you use the press with the ram dry?Maximumbob54 wrote:I have to clean the press ram often enough that I don't really want oil film build up on it.
