Hi Folks,
My first post.
I'm an active cast bullet target shooter. My favorites are shooting all my modern rifles with cast bullets on the target range in what I call "Low Node" ( The accuracy node that is just under or just above subsonic)
Have been shooting this way for a number of years and it is mostly at 50 yards because I,m old and don't have to walk too far and I sure can see better at 50 yards then 100 yards :)
Also the light loads do not beat up my brass or rifles and especially not my back and neck!

I have been a professional commercial photographer with the same company for 48 years...I'm trying to get to the 50 year mark then really retire. As it is now I'm partially retied because I still do work for some of my biggest and oldest clients.
I have been building custom 17th and 18th Century style flint lock rifles and smoothbore since 1983 But since I started with cast bullets that takes up much of my spare time and I needed a break, so about 2009 I I took that break and changed my hobby
Jim

Welcome. Just a couple of weeks ago I started fooling around with some light loads in my 308 and 7.62x54R.
As you say, It is a lot easier on the body. Also easier on the pocketbook with a lot less powder burned per shot.
