.38 Special dies or .357?

Post by jarhead127 »

I read somewhere Classic Lee Loader .357 dies will work on .38 Special, is that true? Got a little Taurus 605 in .357 and want to do a little reloading for it. Most rounds will be .38 Special, but if the same kit works for .357, I might as well just buy the .357 kit instead of buyin both. Anyone help me out here?

I can't say for the Whack a Mole but typically the 2 are interchangeable I'd bet the scoops is the only difference between them .

I started out in 2011 with a Lee .38/.357 Classic Loader (and a 9mm kit). And, yes, the same tool for .357 also worked with .38 spl ,IF MY MEMORY IS CORRECT. It was somewhat slooow .... but dang sure efficient .... also a bit noisy. I used the same "batch" loading system then as I still use now with other tools. 1 Deprime and clean a "batch", 2 resize and expand/flare the case mouth on a batch, 3 Prime and store a batch ready to "load", 4 Powder and set bullets on a batch. ..... then "Rinse and Repeat" :)

Many thanx guys, I went ahead and ordered the Lee dipper kit so I'll have the proper ones for each load.

I'm shooting the Rossi 351 38 Spl. I wanted a true 38 Spl with a five-round cylinder. I love the pistol.

What the others have said concerning the die sets.
