Lyman Corncob Plus Problems

Progress is ?

Here's the first three 9X19 cases I grabbed out of the Lyman Treated Corncob Media I bought from MS. Are the flash holes uniformed? No, but I don't see how that matters as the media is packed level into the primer pocket. They pretty much all look like this.

Yes, I got the Lyman flash hole uniformer too. Takes about 10 seconds to complete the task on one case. That means to complete all my 9X19 cases will take FORTY TWO HOURS. No thanks. Back to the wash.

Anyone need 10 pounds of Lyman media? I'll keep the flash hole tool as it's easy to store and kinda cool lookin'...

I deprime only after using my Lyman tumbler. My Lyman pocket uniformer only takes a couple of seconds to use but boy your hands will hurt after wards.

One thing I've discovered about myself - as I move from loading 20 rounds at a time on my single stage press to loading hundreds of rounds in bulk - is that it is becoming more like a job and I don't really like being a worker in an ammo factory.

Any other suggestions on how to keep the media from getting packed in the primer pocket? My dry tumbler turned black on the inside for the first time too.

Crushed walnut bulls aka lizard bedding . It's small enough to almost pour through the flash holes . It doesn't bridge or get stuck hardly and when it does even if it's missed I believe the primer would flash around or through it .

The first stuff I ever got was fine ground and worked well. It was walnut. I didn't like the dust and moved on but I know better how to deal with dust...maybe. I still have some of that too.

Hmmm. I'm using the Lyman Corncob Plus with 9mm Luger cases and have never seen it pack like than. I'm using a vibrator, are you using a rotating drum? I'm thinking that centrifugal force might be packing the pockets.
