CMP sale.
Whew! Came really close this morning. Reading my email I read one from CMP. They are having their "Special Grade" M1 Garands on sale. New bbl, new stock/sling refinished parts, but stock receiver. Comes in a nice hard case. $700.00. A few years ago I paid around $900.00+ for mine. Came close to ordering one, but I don't shoot the one I have much any more...

Re: CMP sale.
Incredible how low the prices on Garands are over there. I wanted to buy one, but gave up after two years. None under 1800 available.

Re: CMP sale.
I know - prices aren't what they used to be, but isn't that always the case? My brother in law bought his rack grade M1 from the CMP around 2002-2005, when they were $425. They don't go down in price unless there's a sale.Fyodor wrote:Incredible how low the prices on Garands are over there. I wanted to buy one, but gave up after two years. None under 1800 available.

Re: CMP sale.
Not a bad price. I have had several over the years and got rid of most. I gave one to each of my grand boys when they graduated army boot camp and I kept one for me. When I get done using it I will give it to my grand daughter. I kept that one because it was serial number 189,000. I usually shoot it once or twice a year and then clean it. I have a friend who has a 1000 yard range in his front yard and he has Garand shoots every few months. I went this year and hit a bowling pin at 350 yards. I was really pleased with that. The biggest problem now is the surplus ammo has dried up. Luckily I still have a couple thousand left. They sure are fun shooting. I bought three when they had the Danish returns without wood for $295. I wish I would have bought my 12.
