Depending on cartridge .......
I shoot 32 Rem and 30-30 to 21-2200 fps . 06' and 308 1800 is about all I can get with plain base . With check shanks 1500 is a max and then only if stuff plays nice .

I have cast about 200 bullets using the Lee C309-150-F mold and sized them down to .308.

I wouldn't size from .309 preferring to have cast slightly oversized. In my experience this seems to give better accuracy. I water quench to harden my casts but for rifle I use a GC. I tend to stay in the 1800 to 2200 FPS range depending on powder and calibre.

Lee's Modern Reloading 2nd Edition has a good information on pressures and cast bullets. You may also want to read Glen Fryxell's excellent book on bullet casting. http://www.lasc.us/Fryxell_Book_Contents.htm
