Ranch Dog TLC311-165-RF at Lee

Post by Ranch Dog »

I just noticed that Lee Precision as five of my original TLC311-165-RF bullet molds for sale. I have just completed a special order group buy for a revised TLC311-165-RF bullet and Lee must have started by cutting the original bullet by mistake; hence, they have ended up in the overruns. I'm not real sure how many of these molds are out there but it is a bunch as it was my best selling mold. My revised bullet changed the nose to a bore rider with a slightly different ogive. Nothing wrong with this first bullet. See http://www.ranchdogoutdoors.com for load data. Since closing up shop, I have seen these molds sell for over $90! My group buy for the revised bullet was filled in only a couple of days.

I bought the 311-165rf for my contender 30-30s as I won't be able to drive it at maximum speed due to the shorter barrels and wanted a large meplat and heavier bullet. I have the 113, 120, 125, 150 and 170 in lee molds to compare.it won't go to waste.

I ran a group buy for my revised TLC311-165-RF earlier this year, the molds have been shipped to the buyers. In my contact with Lee this week, they told me that they had started the mold run on the original design but had no issue moving them quickly through their website.

Sounds like Lee's backlog may be easing somewhat or maybe they needed to sell some they erred on when setting up your order?

I just looked at the Lee website and couldn't find any mention of a TLC311-165-RF. Checked products/molds and did 4 searches. Where would I find that mold?

He-He, I figgered they were gone, but, where would they be on Lee's web site? I looked in the mold section and there was only a standard chart of mold designs. Is there a "custom mold/tools" section?..
