I just ordered this mold for my Lee Enfield. A couple of questions:
- Will .32 checks be too large. I have a lot on hand.
- Has anyone used this in a Mosin? How did it perform?
- Any experiences to be shared with this bullet eg. Seating depth, powder choice and so on?

Can't help with Your Question....But after readin Your first Post, reminded Me that I have an old beat up Enfield I picked up 20years ago. Never shot It...

Dug it out that Evening and started scrubbin out the bore.

Just curious, have you slugged your bore? I did on my Mosin and was not really surprised when I found out that I have a .314 bore.

Just under .313 so I am hoping the bullet drops a bit big. If not I will have to Beagle the mold.

I have that particular mold an have been shooting it for about a year in my two Mosin rifles as well as my SKS rifles.

My mold drops bullet pretty close to .314" which is a plus as my rifle are all pretty close to .312" groove to groove. I either run them through the lubesizer using LARS 2500+ or powder coat them and size to .314" using standard 30 cal gas checks.

In the M44 and SKS rifles, I just crimp the bullet in the provided crimp groove. The 91/30 has a long throat, so I just seat the bullet flush with the top of the driving band second from the bottom, and it shoots fine.

For general purpose shooting in the Mosins I like 19.0 grs. of Alliant 2400 the Lyman Cast Bullet manual #4 has load data for that bullet in the 54r as well using several other powders such as Reloader #7 or IMR -4198. In the SKS rifles, I use 23.0 grs. of IMR-4895, and it makes one heck of a thumper load.

That is really good feedback. I haven't had much experience with PCing other than 9mm and 45 auto. Once I get all the Spring jobs out of the way I hope to try it again. What check size did you use?

Just regular old 30 cal. Gator checks. If you PC the better quality powder coats put a much finer coating on the bullets base so installing the checks wasn't a problem. If your using a lube sizer or the TL process it even easier to apply the check.
