Anybody know the pitch (threads per inch) of the Lock Stud #90110 -- it may be threaded 1/2" by 28 tpi. Anyone with a threaded barrel or attachment care to verify this for me?
I'd like to duplicate the Smartreloader XT - Multi Purpose Lock Stud as discussed here.
Thank you!

Re: Better Lock Stud
I know this isn't the answer you are looking for but the Lee 3jaw Chuck replaces the lock stud and the shell holder both. I also know RD doesn't like this 3 jaw Chuck but for me its literally done 1000s of cases. I used a 223 case, epoxy and a Lee ball handle to make an extension for the 3 jaw Chuck. http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/tt15 ... 7d15e4.jpg[/img]

Re: Better Lock Stud
I just tried 2 different case holders from mine. TheY screw on to my pistol and my rifle with 1/2 x 28 threads so seems to be. I was in doubt of this being true. Kinda shocked lol. They don't screw on far as the threads are cut shallow on the case holders but fit well enough I'm sure. keep us posted.

Re: Better Lock Stud
I will double up on AKs test in the morning. I will run a die over the threads.

Re: Better Lock Stud
Thanks guys. I've found an interum solution, but I'd still like to design a more eloquent solution.
The interum solution is to use some plastic wrap to cover the hex stud and jam it into the screwdriver...
A 1/4 inch hex standoff allows me to power some of my other case conditioning tools.
