Yup, it's a lot easier to size down than lapping a mold. The 170 FP for the .30-30 could be a little bigger as well as the .457 molds for .45-70. I do have a 405 gr .459 that seems to drop close to .459 but the 340 grain 45 bullet drops at .456 but after lapping it gets to .457 but no more.

It is a Midsouth Shooter Supply design: 8mm Max. Given the fact that these molds are instock at Midsouth, I would be inclined to purchase from them as those at Lee have probably been rejected by Midsouth.

I received it on Saturday and it appears to be your Ranch Dog design I purchased in a6 cavity mold only this is 2 cavity old style blocks. I could find no specs on it but it appears to be .340 dia, gas check with a wide meplat. About 240 grain. Should be good shooter in 338win mag.

Not a Ranch Dog, never did anything other that a 170-grain 32 Win Spl bullet.

I saw the 8mm max in mid south shooters finally. My lee price was the same but shiiping was probably more. Have a good selection of 8mm' Bollits for the military rifles now plus Lyman 323466 loverin

I hope it's a good 8mm Mauser mold because I bought one:

But of course I have yet to even shoot those yet as my time off is all vastly absorbed for months to come still.
