Porkers at the feeder...
Their back, twenty two of them! They came to the house feeder last night and stayed until everything was gone. I walked out to them, got about 30 yards from them to verify the count. Durn if they didn't come back this morning. Here they are as they were streaming in...
My dog went out towards them, she approached them with the rising sun at her back which I thought was pretty smart. When she was about 20 yards from them and all 22 were present, she decided this was not a good idea and slowly retraced her steps.
I have some friends coming to visit over the weekend so hopefully if I don't harass them, they can take home a load of them.

Re: Porkers at the feeder...
That is a smart dog on both counts. I seen dogs mauled by a wild boars.
I grew up by a beautiful ranch near Paauilo HI. My dad was the ranch and plantation MD. At least a couple of times a year the paniolos (Hawaiian name for cowboys) would bring a lacerated hunting dogs to him for stitches. That was back in the days when a 10y/o kid could walk down the main highway with a rifle over his shoulder and no one suspected him of being a terrorist. Neighbors were friends and helpful so stitching up their dog(s) was the right thing to do in a country clinic.
