Re: What Bullet Casting Did You Do Today?
I am finished with my vegetable sales for the year. Many days now it does not get above 80 till 8 am. I will start casting at 06:00 and stop at 08:00 to 08:30. It is still too hot to shoot till about 7 pm. It is too wet to shoot in the mornings from the dew, unless you are wearing rubber boots.

I still would like to hire a full-time bullet caster.

Re: What Bullet Casting Did You Do Today?
I ran some 462-420s from a MiHec brass mould ........good grief what an ordeal to get a mould running ....... Heat cool repeat X 7 plus 5 casting sessions ........
Finally got a good run and in spite of it being the coolest day in 2 months 35 pours was all I could do ..... sweat all but running off me , icky !
Not proud of the sprue tears but I'm still figuring out brass as a mould matl' .
They weighed in at 380gr +- .3 or less for the HB and 414 gr +- .6 or less for the PB . I culled out blops , drips , poor fill out and all of the first 5 pours with a pre-heated mould . I got 21 HB and 17 PB . Not a good start but better than the previous runs .
I have a few to go shoot now so I'll be able to decide whether or not I want to keep it .
For those curious as to what a brass nose pour mould with replaceable base pins for 2 hollow base or PB or 1 each goes for , it $120 US , 100€ Euro . Miha/Mihec is in Slovenia I believe .
It is a purdy mould .
45-70 in an 1895 Marlin for those who have an interest .

Completed a small batch of Lee's C358-200-RFs for my 35-30. I had cast these months ago, but checked them and ran them through the Lyman Lubesizer with White Label Lube's 2500 Plus.
