The shooting went really good with the 35-30 today, so loaded up the remainder of the brass. So it and the 30 Carbine is waiting for the arrival of the new chronograph.

Next project was to move my Savage 10 FCM 7.62x39 away from a cast bullet and on to a jacketed bullet that I could push downrange faster. This rifle is a sub-MOA shooter, the only one that I've ever owned. In that, it has a .308" groove and long throat, I'm going to use it with 150-grain .308" bullet at 308 Win pressures (I have the 308 Win offering in this rifle as well).

When I matched the Speer #2023 up with it, everything was a perfect fit, bullet base is flush with the base of the case neck with the bullet's ogive .015" off throat contact plus the magazine seems made for the long 2.337" COAL (SAAMI COAL is 2.200")! It will be interesting to see how it shoots.

It looks like H335 might be the powder of choice, Quick Load says that a full case of it will deliver 2400 FPS. That's what my 99 chambered in 300 Sav is doing.

I will work on the incremental loads tomorrow.

Both our 22/250 and the AR like the Sierra 52 gr BTHP Match King. It will get minimal expansion on ground hogs and on at least the one coyote I hit with the 22/250. About 125 paces and drt, but 22 in about 30 out - very little expansion - wish they'd make that as a game king.

Mild, Quiet, accurate...Perfect for back Yard Plinking...

Depending on which expert you want to believe they are either going to blow up upon exiting the muzzle or they'll be just fine. Pragmatist that I am I await testing.

The x spurts were wrong. They don't blow up and the are surprisingly accurate. With GI sights I was able to get under an inch at 50 yards. I'm not certain what the back stop material is at the range, it appears to be a mixture of oddly shaped scrap rubber and that little 36 grain bullet throws it around more than some of my 30s. Grenade in deed.

Those 30-30 Handi's seem few and far between nowadays. I owned one a long time ago now.

Loaded a short run for my Sav 10FCM 7.62x39 and Win M94 35-50. Durn if I didn't end up shooting a hog with both rifles during the night!

Oh, yeah. The Savage 10FCM got a "twofer" with the Speer bullet. I shot a smaller hog through the tenderloin to hit a large hog in the head. I'm prepping brass for the inventory runs of both the 7.62x39 and 35-30. In that these are both scouts, I also have to sight in the Ghost Ring sights on the Savage and the open sights of the Winchester.

I worked on my 303 British evaluation rounds using the PPU B125 180-grain BTSP, Hybrid 100 vs. Varget. I might get these shot this morning.

303B with 180 grain Speer Hot Core SPRN. 39.3 to 40.2 grains of Varget. OAL 3.070, CCI200 and FC 1X fired neck sized brass. Didn't get my moose license this year so looking for a good roast paper recipe :D
