Whatever happened to the WaxMeister tool for pan lubing? I wanted one years ago and went to order today and their website no longer works. I'm guessing they're out of business.

Is there a good alternative because making your own?

Are you talking about the cookie cutters for bullets, if so some guy on Cast Boolits makes them.

I know I ordered one a couple of years back and had already assumed the worst when it suddenly arrived. The turn around time by all posts I read about them took months.

Yeesh, way too long for me, I'm not quite that patient with my cash. I was on the website and noticed it did not have a cart any more. It's a shame, I'd really like a set of those tools.

I've got a bunch of flat based .30 carbine boolits my step son made a mess of and pan lubing would straighten them right out. I may be forced to make a cutter if I can't find a nice pre-made one.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

When they were introduced I immediately ordered a complete set for all my needs. I found that the cartridge brass used for the cutters wore poorly. If you think about it, and I wish I did, a case neck does not have a long life to begin with. The brass cutter hitting the skillet pictured above does not a long life make. Just another thing that I spent a bunch of money on before thinking it through (Maximumbob knows what I mean)!

If you can find them, the Lee aluminum cutters are much better. I bought a bunch of them from a gun store that had the old stock, mainly odd ball sizes, and my plan is to sell them once hunting season is over (mid January).

After reading that, I'm debating having some machined for me with a knurled handle. Be worth it if made properly. Anyone know a good machinist that'll do one offs?

I think Buckshot on CB did them I don't know if he still is or not .

Just a gee wiz I wonder if cookie cutters made from basic mag brass (ie 458 WM or Lott or 06' cut at the shoulder) it should make heavier walls and a more durable tool.

Have always made my own. What ever readily available case (308 works for many or 45-70 for large diameter) and expand or reduce the neck to bullet diameter.
Find standard head nail that the head is close to the bullet diameter. Smooth nail head. Drill primer pocket to nail shaft diameter. Cut or file off nail point. Pass shaft through enlarged primer hole.
I use a 1 inch diameter wood dowel about 3 inches long drilled in the side to fit on the nail shaft for the "ejection handle". Drill a hole in the dowel and push onto the nail. Ready to go to work.
