fast decapping

Post by Steve »

I think the loadmaster is the fastest decapper in the world. Hope this works. It's me decapping 380 auto.
Rate is roughly 40 per minute.
Edit, second time:
I made this film 2 years or more ago. The plastic piece I am holding is for a short stroke handle. it is just a plastic pipe fitting mounted on a shoulder bolt. It and the wooden knob have been replaced with que-balls.

I could use the kind of speed for decapping. It's so slow on a single stage I stopped doing it at all. Back to decapping on my Turret as they are needed.

Pretty cool!

I used my pro1000 to decap, with a turret that only had a universal decapper installed. But that wasn't as far as this! I'm back to decap on my classic turret because of the dirt that makes the pro1000 bind some times.

Decapping is all I use this Loadmaster for now. I do my loading on the other one mounted to the desk in my computer/reloading room. This one is mounted permanently in the shop where its not so clean. (Note how the brace stabilized the crank slider 1/4" square rod.

Nobody said anything so I guess the movie works.

In that I'm going be using Mike's Reloading turrets for my dies, I have spare turrets now. Also have a bunch of decapping dies so this is an easy "do". Thanks.

Looks good. Much faster than a single stage.
