Your ordinary Hornady or Lyman gas checks usually have no issue fitting. But when you go cheap and buy or use checks made on some tools they don't always fit so well. I've seen lots of tips and tricks but this is what I've been doing and I feel like it works well enough.
As long as you can get the check mostly started then it should work. The clamp I have has an easy release button on the back so it's quick to drop the bullet when it's been press fit.
I'm not saying it's the best, but it works for me.

Re: Applying a stubborn gas check
Interestings way to do it.
I use the NOE Bullet Base Chamfer Tool - Power tool
It will cut a slight bevel on the base of the bullet that removes any flashing from the cast and the gas checks slides right on. I have in on a cordless driver and do all my bullet real quick and then snap the checks on.

Re: Applying a stubborn gas check
I use an old case mouth reamer for the base to achieve the same thing as the NOE tool. But the NOE tool being able to use in a power tool is a nice option.
It was also recently pointed out to me that NOE has a press mounted tool that does the seating for you. Out of stock at the moment but I may order both options eventually.
