Strange design... I never saw that model before. The Pedersoli website doesn't show it either.

It's called a mule ear. Probably a target rifle.

Finally heard from Navy Arms, they are no longer in NJ,
They are now in Martinsville W,VA. It is called a Country Boy,
Sold by Navy in the USA from 1970 to 1980. A couple BP guys
here in the valley said it is not a top of the line piece, but in it's
day a very good piece, light & very accurate.
Neat looking little thing.

I'm finding a lot of small gun manufactures are in West Virginia. I have one less than a mile from me that does AR15s but the price is up there and can climb with add ons.

Definetly a target rifle with that micro adjustable rear sight.
Other than that it seems to have been a safe filler not a shooter, good for you.
Mule ears and underhammers were made so there would be no distractions in the sight picture, just the top of the barrel with sights.

Google "mule ear muzzleloader" and you will see a plethora of designs from the day.

Nice "mule ear"; Place called Pioneer Arms (outfit outta Broomall, Pa: if'n ya google "Pioneer Arms Co." you'll find 'em) still sells new mule ear locks (only carry a few "pre-fits" for commercial rifles, guess most are custom nowadays).
