I'm sure after consuming enough alcohol some idiot will try it. :o Sadly there is one born every minute.
An ignorant person is one who doesn't know what you have just found out.

When setting a job up for myself it must be Idiot Proof as well, as I am a bigger idiot than most people I know, and I prove it to myself everyday.

Actually the trick to not getting burned is to 1st have a wet layer on your hand ,sweat for example and 2nd to be in and out with out trapping the boil off vapor or being to clean, jewelry, studs or nails and you're burned.
The trick is that the boil off water actually creates and insulation barrier between you and the lead.
Time is also against you , 2 seconds in a 600 degree pot from cold numbed ice water soaked hands.

This reminds me of being a kid and someone betting they could hold their hand in fire and all they do is wave a finger across a lighter's flame. Time is really the factor. Or lack of time.

Yep, call me chicken little also. I need my fingers and just because they did it, doesn't mean I'm going to.
Neat video and test, I must say. I plan on getting into casting later this year, but I plan on keeping the lead in the pot and the molds, and not on me.
