plinking

Post by Steve »

Went to a friends house today. We set in the sun shot rifles and cocked some pork chops over a wood fire. It was great.
We were rolling tin cans with our 45 colt rifles and plinking at some steel plates. Also shot some 22 LR and 22 Mag. Just a fun afternoon. Never thought I would shoot up 45 colt at tin cans, but I can't wait to do it again. I probably sent a hundred 45s down range at the tin cans.

Great story, Steve. I really like the fact you shot "tin cans", and was wondering if you wrapped any leftover pork chops in "tin foil". Yeah, I know it's an age thing .... to me, tinfoil is just another normal two syllable word. And at a young 62, I probably never even touched real tin foil .... or tin cans. Still, tinfoil, tin can and ice box are words I grew up with and use daily, and we ain't had an "Ice house" in downtown Stumpwater in nearly 50 years :)

That's one of the reasons I'm in the greencard lottery for a few years now... such a great afternoon is absolutely unthinkable where I live, nearly everything you did is forbidden over here. :(

Plinking is a major family activity for my 5 kids, their spouses and the 7 grandkids! I'm grateful that I can supply 90% of the ammo (all handloaded, some 1500 to 2000 rounds)) on these memorable gatherings. My kids are usually to busy with making a living, family, etc to produce enough for their needs and what a grandpa for? ;) :P :D Long live the enjoyment of plinking! +guns
