Powder Coated (PC) the bullets I cast Saturday with some powder I bought off a guy on CastBoolits using the Dry Tumble (DT) method in a plastic container and Air Soft BB (ASBB). This was a first attempt at PC bullets so the first batch was a little thin so I had to do a second coat but the second time around was a charm and the coated very well. Temp was about 45 and humidity was less than 40. Set the temp on the Black & Decker toaster oven to just past 400 and the timer for 30 minutes. Next is a range report and can't wait either.

Pictures got loaded in reverse order so last was the first batch. Third is the second batch of 50. Second Blue Solders lined up ready for loading. And the first is the first 50 loaded.

Finally had time to put 150 rounds down range.

The bullets cycled as expected with not fails of any kind. Accuracy was great to at 30 foot. Instead of shooting low and left they shot high and center, wish I had pictures of the targets. Cleaning the gun was a breeze with just normal unburnt powder and no leading. Ran a brass brush through the bore after letting it soak for 10 minutes and that would bring out small specks of lead with lead on the next swab but this time nothing.

Groovy!!! I just did up a couple of batches I'm thinking of the same blue from the same guy!!!

The few that are darker than the rest had a too thin coating of red that just wasn't sticking in dry tumble so I wanted to try a different powder and the blue worked.

I read where someone tried a silicone baking mat so I'm not trying the same thing. So far I've used it half a dozen times and it's still fully functional. The little bit of remains don't stick to it at all. It doesn't quite brush free but it will allow a little bit of flash to build up if you let it stay.

I think so too, Smoke at cast boolits.

Read that too about the silicone baking mat but for the number I coat may not be worth the cost but then they are only 15 to 25 bucks.

My silicone mat was free with some long ago purchase and set unused for this long so I figured if I waste it then it's no loss. I've found a few cheapish mats on Amazon and I know I saw some in Walmart. So far the best part is the bullets don't slide around like they do on the non stick aluminum and the parchment paper burns up too much after a few uses. Neither product is that expensive but if these mats last then all the better.
