By the way, the match went fine, I won the "Frontier Catridge" category, and turned out to be the fastest BP-shooter in the match, and finishing 8th of 75 overall. I'm actually faster with BP than I am with smokeless. I can only guess why...

That was my first thought, too. But it even resets when I just work the lever by hand, with no chain attached and no case inserted. My wild guess is that something's out of tolerance, and it just doesn't have the tension it should. But I didn't figure out where the tension and the drag should actually be. I need another evening in my man cave to figure that out and see if it can be fixed.
