Re: 1st loads
No problem. I had to learn about it the hard way myself. I'd be up sheet creek if it wasn't for forums like this!

Re: 1st loads
I have got into some 40 S&W cases that have crimped primers. Think they were Winchester.SureshotArms wrote:Thanks for all the info, I'm glad you guys are here to help. None of the manuals I have mention anything about crimps nor the does the online guides I have read thru. Looks like it's common on military calipers so I won't see it when I start my pistol loads up!

WCC maybe , unless it's very recent. I've never seen true commercial ammo crimped in pistol cals.

Re: 1st loads
I believe you are right about WCC. My best guess is from some of the law enforcement was the source. They have a few full auto weapons occasionally (not 40s). The last couple years they have had trouble getting all the ammo they wanted, so who knows where it came from.RBHarter wrote:WCC maybe , unless it's very recent. Re: 1st loads
Just wanted to show this picture off. Long ago I loaded 223 on a turret press. Been using Loadmasters now for 8 years I think. At first I was only going to load 223 on the loadmaster, now I load 30-06, 223, 243, 204, 40 s&w, 380 auto, and a few 45 acp.
My load masters have nothing but DIY mods. I prime off the press with a RCBS bench primer. My OAL with good bullets like those in the picture (Sierra Blitzking) rarely vary over .002".
