Zip trim

Post by Fullthrottle »

Do any of you fine folks use the Lee Zip trim? If so do you like it?

I am growing tired of chalking up my drill and I can't justify the cost of some of the fancy $130+ , case prep tools.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

I've thought about getting one then Lee came out with the Quick Trim system which I've now gone too. I still have the original Lee trim setup but don't use it much any more. I also got tired of chucking them up in a drill and simply started doing them by hand with a nut driver and the ball handle cutter. I found it just as fast and my fingers held up better.

I gave it a try and ended up having issue with it. I experienced the same primary issues reported on the reviews on MidwayUSA:

"The pull cord handle came off several times. The pull cord also gets stuck in the case separations rather than the hole provided."

I was spending more time fixing it than using it so I removed it from my bench and threw it away.
