Re: The Quest begins
$100 to a $150 is what it cost per gun and that's 2 molds each BUT didn't have to buy any $100+ molds either all Lee 2 cavity.

Not surprised it shot all over the place.beekeeper wrote: 34 grains of 4064 should have been a good load.

34 gns of IMR 4064 would be driving the bullet at well over 2000 fps, far too fast for decent results from the Swede with normal alloys and loading procedures. As explained in my previous post.
I'd try again keeping the velocity down.
Also did you de-copper the barrel before shooting lead through it?
Copper fouled barrels can make lead perform poorly, that on top of far too high a velocity isn't a recipe for success.

Re: The Quest begins
As stated the 34 grains of 4064 is with a jacketed bullet.
I have not bought any molds for this rifle yet so have not shot any cast through it yet.
Have not yet cleaned it to remove any copper as have not shot cast yet .
Know it makes a great difference when all of the copper is removed.
As for the cost, I make all components so I need a checkmaker , push through sizing dies , H&I sizing/lubing dies, Molds ( and lee does not make any for 6.5 ) Will have to go to a custom manufacturer such as NOE for a mold or molds.
Did a quick estimate based on several other calibers and $450 was about normal.
I keep a lot of weird records so cost estimates per caliber are nothing new to me.
