The son loves buckshot/slug loads lol
Ok, here is a pic of my son with his new JC higgins 12g bolt action... The gun was given to me by my father in the late 60's, and has been reworked, weight added in the wood stock, and re-stored.... And from the looks of my sons grin, he is liking it... These are lee key slugs and 00 buck...lol... Although not to accurate, it is surely terminal as bear defense....

And here is his smiling face.... Notice that at 30 yards, not much pattern in rapid shooting, but that board that he was shooting is a lot smaller then a Brownie at 30 yards... lol

That smile says it all !!! Used my Dads JC Higgins back in the 60s to hunt then in 1980 he gave it to me when he could no longer hunt. With factory slugs and at 50 yards that thing only dropped maybe 4" at the most.
