Cast my own for the first time.

Post by galaxieman »

Yesterday I finally got to try out the Lee Molds I bought. Did the mold prep as recommended by Ranch Dog and others. Smoked the molds and everything went really good. Made 200 44 mag 240 grain round nose. (they came out 260 grain with my wheel weights) Lubed with Lee liquid alox. Loaded them up and they shot through the Marlin 1894 very well. Only a few rejects and most were just me getting my technique right.
Thanks for all the help and information here.

I was so excited that they were ok that I forgot to take any pictures. But I did get to shoot some on Sunday and they worked well in my Marlin 1894. Happy happy happy!

OH,Oh can I see the hook mark in the corner of your mouth?
Common guys we need to reel him before he gets away.

Congratulation , now for the rest of the story, Your life will never be the same again.
You will never be able to drive down the road without looking at everyone elses tires and wondering how many wheel weight are on them.

Hay if you lived here in California you could have all the free wheel weights you could use.
The EPA says 1500 tons of wheel weights get lost in Los Angeles every year.
A casters dream.
