Plastic Ammo Box Modifications
Has anyone out there modified their plastic ammo boxes to take up the empty space between the tip of the bullet and the top of the box? In some boxes with lighter bullets I've got more than an inch between the two. Seems like a good shake, or short drop would easily decrease the OALs that can be crucial to accuracy and pressure. I've thought maybe a sponge or some soft foam might do the trick, but wanted to see if there's anything better you guys have figured out.

Foam would be the best, I guess. Try to get the stuff they use in seat cushions, the less soft one. Cut it a bit later than the inside of the lid, and push it on. Glue won't be necessary.
Or buy smaller boxes :-)

I've use open cell foam from the local fabric or craft store, and I've also used the closed cell foam from inexpensive shop mats from harbor freight.

Don't know what it's called, but it's black foam
found inside of various storage boxes. works well for me.
But, as of late, I have been using the old cardboard & styrofoam
boxes sold by Midway. On the average, 25 boxes & inserts for
$15.00 give or take a few cent's. Wont last as long but I can
fill, empty & refill a whole bunch of times before there done????
