Hi all!
I want to fit my powder dispenser on top of my Classic Cast press to make the loading of handgun ammo easier. The top of the press has 2 holes with thread. I need to know what size the thread is.
I live in South Africa where we use ISO metric screw thread. I expect that the Lee press has UTS thread. I measured the holes as 0.14" - so I suspect it may be #8 thread (0.1640" - major diameter - according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Thread_Standard)
I need to have an accurate, or at least a pretty good idea of the thread size so that I can find a local supplier that stocks UTS screws.
Thanks in advance!
Stoffel

Welcome to the forum. I don't believe I've seen that question asked here. You might want to visit the Lee website and ask them as well. It would be nice to here is straight from them. There is a "Contact Us" button that will get you here: "Submit a Ticket"
I've always gotten an answer in about two days, sometimes sooner. If you go that way and get an answer, please post it here.

Re: Screw thread on top of Classic Cast press
Welcome to the Lee forum where the "Deplorables" of reloading hang out...
I am at a loss about two threaded holes on a Lee Classic Cast for two reasons; I don't own one (Duh!) and all the pics of that press shows just the die station on the top. Hopefully a member that owns one can help us out...
OOPS! Wait, I just found a pic of a Lee Breech Lock Challenger press that has two holes on the top, near the rear of the frame.

Re: Screw thread on top of Classic Cast press
Thanks Ranch Dog - I submitted my query as suggested.
Attached is a photo of the press (which I probably should have attached in the first place...)
I'll post the reply from Lee when they reply.

Re: Screw thread on top of Classic Cast press
I had a Breech Lock Challenger several years back & those 2 holes were
for mounting the priming system (Safety prime system).
Sure look like the same size, seperation on the holes?????
