Early in the process yet...but started with 13.0g 1/2g steps to 15.5g IMR 4227.
Powder coated Lee 312-155 sized .311 Alum. GC, Once fired Brass from another Rifle, FL sized and Mouth expanded with a NOE .312 Expander
3shot gps. at 50yds all were 'Cloverleafs' untill 15g then the Groups became one big 'Bug Hole"
Will up the Charges toward 18ish grains this week.... Then the best loads will go to 5shot groups...The best of those will go to 100yds
Don't have a Chronograph.....Wish I did...

25 rounds of 7 RemMag 175gr with some "old" H870 powder I picked up at a gun show. It's the first pound of the "stuff" I've been able to lay my hands on in several years!

Put together a test ladder for the 38-55. @00gr Sierra flat point and H4198. In his note that came back with the rifle Jes tested it with that combination. He got 2000 fps with 32 grain of powder. I started 10% below and worked up. Range day Thursday I hope.

Re: What Rifle Reloading Did You Do Today?
Got to the range yesterday to run these. To review 38-55, new Winchester cases, CCI large rifle primers, H4198.Ohio3Wheels wrote:Put together a test ladder for the 38-55. @00gr Sierra flat point and H4198. Make smoke,
Data:
Load 28.8gr Average MV 1796 SD 41.8
29.6 1912 32.2
30.8 1979 42.2
31.4 1988 22.2*
32.0 1992 44.5
The 31.4 grain load produced a decent group and the best SD and for the time being will be the load I work with as far as jacketed loads go. I have the last two boxes of these bullets that I can find due to arrive today in the mail. Sierra hasn't made a run of these in quite a while and while I think with enough play I could maybe get something better I'd hate to burn up the last hundred, find a great load and have no bullets left to stock a box or two.
Here's a picture of the group. I find at 25 yards out at the back stop you get extra holes from the granular material that gets tossed up.

You might consider Hawk Bullets, they have both .375 & .377 bullets.

Re: What Rifle Reloading Did You Do Today?
Cracked out, My new to Me, .338-06 and the Lee ,338-220...
Not much Cast Data out There I could find... So I started with 26g of 5744, got to 28g no Pressure signs and pretty good accuracy at 50yds...
Gonna sneak up the Ladder till Pressure or Group size tells Me to stop...
