Easy prime on press.
An ignorant person is one who doesn't know what you have just found out.

Yep, I only got 8 years out of my Auto Prime before the thumb lever snapped off a couple of months ago. I used it for all the small primer stuff and primed the large primer stuff on the hand press and Ram Prime. It's been a bit difficult the last two months having to manipulate the small primers by hand (well, finger and thumb .... or in my case, "thumbs") into the cup on the ram prime, but it works. I still need to replace the hand primer though.

One of the best tools I ever got was a ram prime when I got my Lee Hand Press kit, mebbe 30 years ago. I could never find a hand primer that fit my hand and I was comfortable using it. I now have a Lee Bench Prime that is almost flawless in it's consistent work...
Yeah Lee stuff is junk, as I have only used some dies since 1970 and I had to take one apart and clean it! And then there's that Lee turret (old style) that I've only used for 25 years, and loaded tens of thousands of rounds on.

10 years or thereabouts for my Autoprime XR but the corner tabs on the primer tray cover broke within the first year on both the large and small primer trays. Not a biggy as elastic band looped over the corners holds covers on tight. Prime rifle usually on press (Safety Prime) but handgun using hand primer.

Yeah the plastic clamp that rotates my Lee turret broke on my LCT.I even kept it un-lubed so it would stay clean and it still wore out after only about 10-12K rounds.

Are you guys using petroleum jelly were the moving parts mate? I've slowed down with my Auto Primes as I went to the Safety Prime on my turret about two years ago, but they are both 20 years old this month and still going strong. Got worried about them 10 years ago or so when Lee started making changes, so bought two more NIB just so they could sit in the boxes on the shelf.

Geeze! I hope so! Someone posting "Lee is junk" on a dedicated Lee site either has cojones as big as bowling balls or is joking (I was)...GasGuzzler wrote:I think these posts were all tongue in cheek. Mine was.
