Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
I did make it to the range a few weeks ago. Only had the time for 50 rounds at 50 meters, but the rifle is a really nice shooter, I could hold the black when have it "sitting" on top of the front sight. One disadvantage of these rifles is, that the minimum setting of the rear sight is 300 m. I bought a higher front sight, but didn't change it yet. If I can hit using the "sitting" sights, I won't at all.

Dang, that is looking very good. Oh, I changed your post title to reflect the firearm. Might bring us a new member from a Google search.

I have the St Marie clamp on. I've been impressed with it stability for the redfield scope I have on it.

I have one of those also. The wood on yours is much nicer. I do like the way they shoot, going to have to get mine to the range one day soon.

Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
Yesterday I took the rifle to the regional championships, 100 m. Since I only managed to practice with the rifle twice, and only 20 rounds at that distance, and the front sight is still not set correctly, I didn't expect a lot. I had to aim about 30 cm low and 35 cm left, to hit somewhere close to the center. That went far better than expected! I scored 115 (max 150), which was far better than I ever did before.
Really nice shooting rifle, and when I finally manage to set the front sight, I expect to be shooting even better.

Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
I have yet to hit on a really good load for my K31 other than GP11 which I can get for C$400 for a case of 480 Rounds. My rifle had a certificate with it that gave its bore as having been gauged at 7.54mm or .297 inches. It has strong sharp rifling and is nice and shiny. How do you find the GP11 in your rifle?

Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
I paid 600€ for 1000 rounds of GP11. That should be enough for four to five years for me. I won't start reloading that cartridge, I don't shoot enough of it. But I can sell the brass for quite a few bucks, so the next box of ammo will be cheaper.
The original GP11 runs great in that rifle, and is supposed to be very accurate. It's me who can't put that accuracy on the target.
