The one I want is the Carbine .44 Magnum.

Re: Next Rifle
I like the looks of the 16.5" barreled carbine. The larger loop is more like a "hunter" loop rather than just a big loop. It would help with gloved hands while hunting & recoil when you put the wood to your 44 Mag loads.

Re: Next Rifle
Those are some really handsome rifles anyone would be proud to have. I watched an internet review on the longer rifle that's linked on their website. Are the Henry's as well finished out of the box as they look and what are the street costs vs. say, a Rossi, Marlin or Winchester?

Re: Next Rifle
I have been shooting my Henry 45 rifle in the cold, the large loop I put on it does really work good with gloves.
Dave, I don't have much experience with Rossi or Marlin lever action center fire rifles to tell you any difference in the brands. All I can say is my Henry rifle seems to be standing up and is fun to shoot. It has around a thousand rounds through it now.

Re: Next Rifle
The Henry is very nicely finished and street price around here is more than the Rossi and less than the others on average.

Re: Next Rifle
The Henry rifle is heavier than the Rossi 92. A friend of mine has a Rossi 92 in the same caliber as my Henry. The Length of pull on the Henry is longer than the Rossi so it fits me better. Set them side by side you will find the Henry to be a little larger rifle.
Shooting full load heavy bullets in the 45 Colt, has the Henry coming out on top where shooting comfort (recoil) is concerned.

Re: Next Rifle
I've purchased the Classic Henry 22 levers for my grandsons. They are heavy, to heavy for the younger ones. Nevertheless they are beautiful rifles to look at as well as function. I know they will last their lifetimes and still be ready to go for the great grandkids. Accurate too.

The Henry Rifles are well finished out of the box. And they usually work. If there is a problem with a rifle Henry gets it fixed, they don't set on it.DaveInGA wrote:Those are some really handsome rifles anyone would be proud to have.
