I planned to load some .38spl black powder loads today. But again, my dealer didn't have any... Not a grain. For two months now...

Yep I have some berry's bullets I was going to load but none of my local holes have the black powder. I want clouds of smoke fun shooting in my Vaquero.

Re: What Handgun Reloading Did You Do Today?
Grandson stayed home from school today (supposedly sick) so he came over to my house for me to keep an eye on him.
Had him decap 9mm and .38 spec carts. and then cleaned them in ultrasonic washer then cooked them in the toaster oven. He is learning. If he wants to shoot (see picture in margin) he will have to know how to reload..

If all else fails--look for the obvious

I kept track of the primers I was using on this batch of 380s. There was just over 1,000 good cases. Got a couple hundred more cases Saturday, when I get some to through in with them I will clean and prime them. Think I might have just about enough bullets to load the primed empties I have now. Will have to make a trip to get more bullets soon.62chevy wrote:Ya it's that never ending cycle we love so much.Steve wrote:I picked up that powder can full of 380 cases. Turns out it's not full, but I would guess more than a thousand was in it. Got them polished and will start prepping them today. Hot Dang! something to do!
I am looking forward to loading them on the Loadmaster as much as shooting them. And them I get to load them again.

Reloaded about 60 rounds of 9mm last night.
First time reloading 9mm so I'm working on the correct recipe that works for my PT-92.
115g RN Xtreme Bullets
5.1g Autocomp
115g RN Xtreme Bullets
5.5g Autocomp
30 rounds of each back that I plan on testing at the range this weekend.

I've burned through 2lbs of Auto Comp in the 9 when powder was scarce, (that's the ONLY powder the local store had at the time). I was shooting 115gr. RMR plated bullets through a Ruger SR9C and after a bit of "testing", settled on 5.2gr as my "best" load. I don't recall how high I went in charge weight but do remember that the "start" charge was a bit to light for reliable function in MY gun. For now I'm using HS6 for my "dress" rounds which are 115gr Speer GDHP at near max charge. Very accurate and quite "spunky". For "practice" rounds I've moved to BE powder which I've had on hand for quite some time as I've never really been a Bullseye fan for the calibers I "normally" shoot. However, 4.3gr under that same 115gr RMR plated bullet is the most accurate load I've used in my Ruger. (we're not talking a whole lot of difference here). Not as "hot" as the HS6 but a very good load none-the-less. I just picked up a 1000 125gr truncated cone plated bullets from RMR but haven't worked anything up with those yet but expect that BE will work well with them as well. I didn't find anything at all bad/wrong with the Auto Comp powder, just ran out is all.

My Ruger P95 loves 4.8 Bullseye with 115g plated RN built a little long.
