New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
I shot a nice gun at an online auction last week, and received it yesterday. It was advertised as "Swiss urdnance 7,5x55 Swiss" (in German, but you get the point) and that's it. Two post stamps as pictures, nothing else. Nobody else found it, so I got it for less than 100€.
Turned out to be a matching numbers G96/11 full length rifle (about 4').
Nice gun, I hope I'll manage to take it shooting between the years.

Beautiful. Future reports PLEASE!
I've got the K31 and it is amazingly accurate. The straight pull is smooth, I like the way it feels. The Swiss Products scope mount is ingenious and rock solid.

What mount do you mean?
I only found this one (http://egun.de/market/item.php?id=6291337), but that's a bit too expensive for me.

Nice Model 96/1. Wonder if it has the soldier's name under the butt plate like many of the K31's. This is a K31 mount that I am not sure will fit the 96/11. It is similar to the Swiss Products one.
Reall y nice fit and fin ish on Swiss rifle but they are heavy lol.

It should have. I didn't have the time to check for that yet.Macd wrote: Wonder if it has the soldier's name under the butt plate like many of the K31's.

Good buy ! About $120 US .
It's odd to think there are so few Mausers in Germany that a guy would have a Swiss K31 more available .........on the other hand you shoot SAA Colts so I guess it's not all that weird .

Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
There are more K98 in the US now than in Germany
My Colts are all Italian made
That Swiss rifle is the only gun I own that once belonged a truly free man
The world is a strange place...
Good K98 are quite expensive, all the nice ones already found their place in a collection. Swiss rifles are very accurate guns, but far less expensive. Mine would have sold for two to three times that price, if the seller would have given more info than two very low resolution images and the caliber. If he even spelled "Schweizer Ordonnanz" correctly, that would have helped potential buyers to find it. But the rifle was advertised as "Ordunanz", which isn't even a word. No model designation. Pure accident I found it. That is not a standard price for guns over here.

Re: New Toy! Swiss Ordnance 7,5x55 Swiss
Very nice! Couldn't get mine back from Germany. Used to shoot some of the military matches while there. The winner a toss up unless a Swiss K showed up. Then everybody argued about who would come in second!
