Welcome to the forum Alan. I understand the delays in getting something done.

I had trouble finding the dot on my 22/45 so I put the factory sights back on. I also tried a fiber front and took it off too.....it was too thin compared to the rear notch so it never filled the rear sight.

Did you try any Varget before sending it off?

I haven't tried it with the No. 4, just the No. 5. I will eventually get to it. I also have some of the Hornady 174-grain round nose bullets. It will probably be late winter or early spring until I get to it.

I've given up on the Lee C358-200-RF. I cannot get it to shoot inside 6 to 11 MOA. The same problem I had with my Savage 170 chambered in 35 Rem. I've been trying all kinds of loads, and it just won't shoot. My last three shots yesterday at 25-yards found it keyholing. Honestly, I've never had any luck with a bore-rider design that wasn't designed for a specific rifle, and that is why none of my original designs I marketed had them. Man, I've gotten tired of removing lead from the Winchester's barrel. The Shooter's Choice Lead Remover makes easy work of that task, but every three shots? So, I pulled my tried and true TLC359-190-RF out of the bag. These like the C358 drop and .359" and have been lubed on the Lyman 4500 with White Label Lube's 2500+. I haven't gotten the Rooster Jacket on them yet but I will. The alloy mix is the same 6/4 linotype/wheel weights mix I started casting with this year, with a BHN of 25.

I went straight to a 40.0K PSI load of H322 and put the bullets through the same hole at 25-yards at 2250 FPS.

I'm leaving for Dogville, the Adoption Center, this morning but will get this shot out through 200-yard this afternoon and tomorrow. I have the stock ready for the Tru-Oil, but the C358 had me wondering if it was worth it or not. I want to take the rifle to a public hunt next week where I hope to be drawn for one of the standby positions.

I also called CH-4D and ordered different expander balls. The die set came with a .355" ball which allows a .357 bullet to sit on the case neck but not a .358" jacketed bullet. They recommend an expander ball be .002" under bullet diameter for a jacketed bullet and .001" for a cast bullet. So, they are sending me a .356" ball, and I ordered a .358" ball. Nice people to talk to the two times I've called.
