One for me. 25th anniversary in May. Her parents married for 51 years, mine 55.

Being 10 months shy of 50 years, my wife is still married to her first husband. Not sure why, but I'm not about to question it. We got married, after my grandfather's insistence, on my grandparents' 50th anniversary, about six months earlier than "the plan". It didn't really matter since I was already bummed out over how liberal college "education" was after my freshman year in '71-'72 - I knew I couldn't take another 3-4 years of that. No regrets.

As for the "low recoil deer rifle", I'd probably pick the right .243 and right ammunition. Just my opinion.

The 243 Win was very popular here in South Texas back in the 70's through 80's. Haven't seen one in a hunter's hands since. I did find one round of spent brass on my new place in Victoria County, it looked 40 years old.
