will they shoot as well as in point of impact as a MINNIE? in an ENFIELD or SPRINGFIELD? and do you shoot the same load 60, grs. of powder?

In my somewhat limited experience Round balls tend to get deformed when loaded. Minie balls were designed to load more easily in a rifled barrel and obturate to give a tight fit on firing. The grease grooves are also more effective at reducing powder residue. In a revolver like the New Army round balls are accurate enough for the typical range of these guns but at rifle distances they are less satisfactory. I shot a New Army earlier this week at IPSC standard targets and I assure that "Texas Red" would be just as dead with the .44 RB as with a conical Minie.
