My new in-line

Post by Ohio3Wheels »

I decided this year that I needed a muzzle loader to extend my whitetail season. So I picked up a CVA Wolf in 50 caliber, added the Blackhorn 209 breech plug and a 3-9 BSA scope and got the fun started. First time out was to the indoor range with TC sabots, I somehow managed off hand to keep 6 shots in a group about the size of my palm not super but then I'm not much of an off hand shooter. Today I took it out to the state range for some 50 yard from a rest using 245 grain Power Belt copper hp's and 100 grain (volume) of Blackhorn. two groups one a little over 3 inches and the other somewhere around 6. I probably should have wiped a little more aggressively between the 6 shot groups. I'm pleased with the combination so far. I need more practice and may need to tune the load just a bit. I was never in doubt when it went off, some white smoke, a good bark and a solid smack on the shoulder.

Make smoke,
Curt.......makin' smoke and raising my carbon foot print one cartridge at a time +guns +guns
