Interesting cartridge?

I was surfing the web looking at gun stuff and found an article comparing the 9mm Parabellum/Luger with the "9mm Auto". Ballistics seemed the same but the 9mm Luger is a tapered case while the 9mm Auto is straight. Pics showed the headstamp and the difference. Personally I see no advantage/reason nor have I seen any cases/cartridges and no guns designated "9mm Automatic". Any one else see this cartridge? Just another thing to watch for when sorting 9mm?

I found an article about the two, honestly drifted off a bit reading it. Any venture that would think to pursue this, thinking it a good idea, would be financially daft.

Agree RD. The 9mm Parabellum has been around, in it's present form for a very long time and there must be millions of guns chambered for the round just as it is. Any change would have to be a drastic improvement...

Have fired thousands of rounds of 9×19 and have only had problems with bullets not cases. After I read the article I felt let down Thought it might add some powder space and I could make IPSC major.
