Well, I bought the one from Redding, that is just a third of the price. I really can't imagine that these extra holes do make any difference. A powder baffle should just break the pressure, assuring that the actual weight on the feeding zone of the measure is always the same. A uniform distribution or an even level of powder don't make any difference.

But it sure looks nice and high tech, which also might be a reason to go with this one

How well does the one from Redding fit? I thought they were all sort of custom made for their own powder measures. I know my Hornady baffle doesn't fit my Uniflow, #55, or PPM.

The Redding baffle does not fit too tight into the Pro AutoDisk, it has some freedom to move. Maybe a Millimeter or so... but actually that doesn't influence powder distribution, so I don't care. But it does fall out if you tip the hopper over, maybe one made especially for that hopper will stay in place.

I bought the "Dog" but haven't have been doing any reloading over the last couple of weeks. I will report once I put it to use.

Do you even need a baffle in a Lee PPM?
With its offset hole it doesn't seem to need one as that is all the baffle does.
A simple one can be made out os a plastic coffee can top or similar plastic.
Saw a design for one (homemade) and will try to find it and post a pic.

A baffle never does any harm, but it might uniform charges, expecially with "difficult" powders.

A friend of mine who made some ammo for me before I got my equippment complete once gave me 6 boxes of .38spl, and one and a half boxes (!) were without powder! He insisted that his powder thrower (Pro Auto disk) never ran empty. We're all using TrailBoss powder, which is known to be difficult because of its huge thin flakes.

So I bought a 5$ baffle right from the start, and I turn it a way so I can see what's happening under it. I hope that I can see if no powder is dispensed that way. I also have a close look on the disk itself when it prodtrudes from the measure.

With the small amount of bulky, light weight powder we use for our cowboy loads and the range brass of different brands and batches, putting the finished cartridge in a scale won't tell you if it has powder or not.

LEE states, their measures have "integrated" baffles. I'm not sure what that means, so I keep using my baffle, just in case.

I am kinda old fashioned.
I weigh every charge so I drop the charge into a cut off film canister to make sure I get no splatter of powder granules and then into my scale pan.( I use a 50+ year old beam scale).
So I always get rather consistent drops.
Before using the scale I would get as much as 1/2 to 1 grain different charges.
Plus 1/2 grain to minus 1/2 grain
Quite a swing if you think about it.
Makes a lot of difference at 600 yards.

6 months ago out of a butter bowl lid, It
does make a difference in mine, with my
technique, & with some powders, RedDot
in particular, makes a big difference.

What powders are you using to get a half to a whole grain off??? That's huge. The worst I've ever had is .3gr off.
