why doesn't Lee mill a flat spot on the case length gauges for a grip spot when screwing into the cutter so you don't mess up and scar the gauge with pliers.

Good idea, have you sent it to them?

I use my old Sanders archery "nock" pliers, they work great without marring the gauge's finish.

Good idea. I wrap a piece of thin leather around it. I suppose I could mill a flat on it, but that'd take work.

Use a wood vice. If you squeeze the threaded portion together a small amount it is easy to turn.

When I use case length gauges they tighten them self up once the cutting starts. Why not use these Pliers. the Tsunoda, PL-150SC-S PLA-iers, Replaceable Resin Jaw Pliers w/built-in-spring..

That's a shame.

A short 1/4" square flat on the shank would be awsome.

Guess extra step would add too much cost for such a low dollar item.

Yeah, just the cost of tooling up for it would be tough now. They did increase the size of the shell holder recently (unannounced), to give us a little more diameter for our hands.
