I don't understand why they stopped building this one.

No telling the why but thanks for posting it. There is one for sale on ebay right now. I'd buy it but I hardly do any shotgunning and all ready have the Load-All and a Lee Loader for the 12 Gauge.

Here is the ebay Load Fast, don't know if it working or complete.

I've owned a couple of them in the past. They work, make a pretty good shell, actually they make a very good shell. They're a bit on the "flimsy" side as far as construction as they're mostly all plastic. But they have auto powder and shot and only when a hull is present. The "auto" primer feed is pretty much the same as the Load All, hit or miss. The shot and powder bushings are the same as the Load All also. Lee recommended when loading in progressive mode to only do every other station at a time (IIRC) also the "shell plate" is a "captured" system, once a hull is inserted, if there's a boo-boo you pretty much have to dissemble the top of the press (not to difficult, especially after you've done it a couple times) to remove the offending hull. Let's see, what else, oh the powder and shot hoppers are easy to empty, if memory serves you just turn them, then lift them off. (Sound familiar :D ) Station eight (yep eight) is where the shell is ejected gave me some problems kinda like it was a bit small and that would jamb up the works until removed. The indexing piece was plastic so you had to be careful and not force ANYTHING or you could break it. (I never did break anything on the ones I had) But like I said it is a bit of a fragile loader. If a guy could find one in good shape for cheap they are kinda fun to play with and like I said they do work. I didn't own them for long, just wanted to check them out for the most part and them moved them along. (I also have 4 other shot shell presses so didn't need them at all) The one RD refers to on e-bay looks a bit rough to me but a cursory look it seems to be complete as far as the main body. Wad guides and bushings from the Load All will work with this one. Fifty bucks seems a bit high to me though for that condition. If it was in "like new" condition I may be tempted though just because. But I'm a bit of a press "junky" for different stuff.....at least for a while..

I have to confess, I don't load shotgun. I have a Kmart branded 20 ga. double my wife gave me for a wedding present and a Rossi Circuit Judge in .410. I don't shoot either enough to justify loading for them. This came along with a used Loadmaster, back when I was in a hurry. These days, my turret is just about the right speed.
If there's a collector out there who would like this, I'd let it go for a Lee .308 4 die set.

So Mike, if I read correctly, you have a Lee Load Fast press? what gauge is it and what kind of condition is it in? If it's complete and in good shape that would be a pretty good deal for someone looking to load shot shells. I should have added in my "critique" that ANY progressive shot shell press is best used for loading ONE load and lot's of them. If a person wants to load different types of loads, ie; slugs, buck, different shot type, or any "specialty" loads, then a single stage press is best. You can do these things on a progressive but that's not where they shine.

From what I can tell, it is complete and in good shape. I'll try to take some better photos later. It's a 12 gauge. If it was a 20, I'd probably hang on to it.

Rather than shrink the photos, I posted 6 pictures here so you can see the details. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/Si ... 9gfati.jpg

That looks to be in very good condition Mike. If you weren't so darn far away I'd probably jump on it. Shipping would be the bug-a-boo. Actually I know a guy that's looking for a Load Fast, I'll see if I can get in touch with him. Thanks for posting the pics...
