Just picked up a Bauhn light strip at Aldies $6
Self stick about 6' long with USB cord and rgb remote control.

Sorry no good even up and down 7 leds.

So it does not work for what you want.
I often do not have enough light to see small things in tight places. I keep a small super bright LED flashlight on the bench for such things.
