we were using Salt licks for bait. .. we were carrying Marlin 336's.. mine is a 1949 in 32 win.. My son carries a 1955ish 30-30.. my friend bob was packing an 8 weight St Croix with a weight foreward sink tip and a chartreuse wolly bugger on a size 6 hook..

I have a Marlin 336RC 32 Win Spl that I don't hunt and shoot near enough.

what does the RC part mean???

i surely love mine. there is just something about it. i have every single thing I have aimed it at this year. somehow the darn thing just knows where to hit almost on its own.. every once in a while you have a gun the just seems to actually become an extension.. one your dont have to do anything to fit to perfection. the cheek weld, the pointability, the carry, the optics.. it all just works..
